the trials and tribulations of being a high school senior.
Saturday. 10.27.07 10:29 pm
I am the first to admit that being a senior in high school is pretty awesome. You can pretty much get away with anything that you want to, and your schedule is nothing. Well, my schedule is nothing. I have friends that are taking all these advanced classes that they get pretty stressed out about, but that's their fault. My day consists of only two book classes that I have to have to graduate, and two other classes that I can sleep in, or just leave and roam the halls at will. It's a pretty nice set up, but being a senior does have it's bad points.

There was this meeting about work based portfolios. I didn't go, but I had
Becky get me a set of the papers that were passed out. Apparently, we are supposed to put together this packet about our work experiences. We need copies of job applications, thank you notes for our service, employer evaluations... Things like that. You know how many of those things I have? None. The easier part is going to be the academic accomplishments and then the personal interests. Then to make the whole thing just stupid, we have do a presentation of this portfolio for the assistant principal at our school.

Then, there was the panoramic photo.

This didn't sound too bad. I went, and found a seat in the bleachers. It got bad when the entire class was there and were all packed tightly together. And then the guy taking the picture talked to us like we were five-year-olds, which is understandable for some of my classmates, but still. It was annoying. After we took three serious pictures, he let us have two funny ones, and then it we had to remain in the bleachers to listen as we were told about ordering our caps and gowns for graduation.

Next is the ACT. You hear about it all through your years of school, and they talk about it like it is one of those life changing events. I took it today, and I promise you that it really isn't. It's just like any other test that they give you. Two number two pencils. Calculator. Fill in the ovals. That's it. I think I did really well on the English and reading parts. The math and science parts, well, that I am no so sure about. I just hope and pray that I don't get a really low score, like a 10 or something. That would just suck.

Sweet music!

Yeah, the ACT ain't no thang. I still have my panoramic photo, though. It's kind of nice.
